After seeing Yo La Tengo's show last night I felt that there needed to be a shout out to their bass player, the unsung hero of the band, James McNew. This guy is the squeaky voiced popster ying to Ira's feedback wail yang. If you have listened to Yo La's first three albums with the revolving line of bass players you understand what an anchor James is.
These are by his one man side project Dump from the album A Plea for Tenderness.

After all this time, I have still never seen YLT live ...
I don't own it, but there is a Dump album consisting of covers of Prince songs. I heard it in its entirety in a bar some years ago, actually quite good
